Scott Nicholas Romaniuk was educated at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, and Carleton University in Ottawa, where he specialized in military history, modern European history and politics, and war and society. An award-winning writer and historian with a special interest in contemporary warfare, and studies of genocide, he has been an invited lecturer covering German and Soviet military doctrine, and ideological conflict in World War Two. He has published widely on military history, ethnic politics, strategic studies, and international affairs. In 2007 he was awarded the Weller Prize for his contribution to the fields of security, law, and intelligence.
